The Traveling Urn

SCROLL DOWN

The Traveling Urn

Where do we go when we die?

We may never know the answer of that question for ourselves, but we do know that answer for Polly, the resident of the Traveling Urn. Widowed, childless and without any known living relatives, Polly passed away in 2016. In her final years, she befriended a young volunteer who now ensures that her spirit explores beyond the confines of her final medical conditions.

The Traveling Urn is more than just a blog though, it is a journey: for me, for those who knew her, and for you, the reader. It is a heartfelt, sometimes humorous, reminder that death is often misunderstood in our culture because it is simply too big and mysterious (and scary) to ponder. It's my hope that her memory and influence will be shared with each trip taken, every ash that is spread, and each conversation it may spark about life, love, and the mark we make in this world even after we’re gone.

We invite you to journey with Polly as she touches down in locations beyond her dreams and opens hearts around the globe.
